Short Biography

Dmitri Kristalinsky is a musician exploring his subject from a multitude of perspectives.

While he received formal training as a classical pianist, Dmitri’s wide range of interests has been constantly pushing him to pursue different musical avenues.

Since the beginning of his musical journey, the young artist has gotten to explore music through various incarnations: rock-band keyboardist and songwriter, classical piano soloist, chamber musician, choir accompanist, church musician, arranger, and recently – music producer and composer for visual media.

Dmitri holds a doctoral degree in piano performance from Michigan State University where he studied with the world acclaimed artist Margarita Shevchenko. His bachelor’s and master’s degrees Dmitri received at the Jerusalem Academy of Music under the guidance of Vadim Monastyrski and Daria Monastyrski.

Complementing his classical music training, Dmitri moved to Canada after receiving his doctoral degree to study digital music production and gain valuable experience and knowledge in this domain.

Since then, Dmitri was involved in numerous animation and film projects as a composer, wrote and arranged songs spanning a range of genres, and continued to write for his favorite instrument – the piano.

Dmitri maintains an active teaching practice working with a range of students of diverse ages, proficiecy levels, and backgrounds.

He is currently teaching in Vancouver Greater Area of British Columbia.
